Catie Munnings is a 20 year old female Rally Driver competing in the European Rally Championship (ERC) In 2018 she will be competing in a factory spec Peugeot 208 R2 as part of the Sainteloc Junior Rally Team. Based in St Etienne the highly respected team has enjoyed great success with the Peugeot Rally Academy both in the ERC and the WRC, helping many promising young drivers on their path to the very top in the sport.
Catie's career is slightly different, whilst she has grown up around motorsport with the family business, her route to international competition was far from traditional grass roots. Catie showed potential during a test and it was decided that she should fast track straight into the ERC, a steep learning curve to give her as much experience as fast as possible. hashtag ProjectKT has proved a very popular way to follow every step of her "in at the deep end" journey via social media channels.
In 2016, her first year of competition and aged just 18 Catie won the FIA European Rally Championship Ladies trophy. Rallying is a sport where the ladies compete directly against the men and Catie's ultimate goal is to compete in the World Rally Championship (WRC) This is the F1 of the rally world and Catie is right on track.
A young girl competing at this level in such a male dominated sport always attracts plenty of media attention and Catie is no exception, so much so that there is some very exciting news on the horizon later this year......
