Catie Munnings is a 19 year old female Rally Driver competing in the Junior European Rally Championship. She will be competing in a factory spec Peugeot 208 R2 as part of the Sainteloc Junior Rally Team. Based in St Etienne the highly respected team has enjoyed great success with the Peugeot Rally Academy both in the ERC and the WRC, helping many promising young drivers on their path to the very top in the sport.
Catie's project is slightly different, whilst she has grown up around motorsport with the family business, her route to international competition was far from traditional grass roots. Catie showed a lot of potential during a test and so it was decided that she should fast track straight into the ERC, a steep learning curve to give her as much experience as fast as possible. Each step of her journey is covered on social media and a TV company are following her progress by making a documentary to include everyday life - hobbies, training and the championship itself.
In 2016, her first year of competition, Catie won the FIA European Rally Championship Ladies trophy, rallying is a sport where the Ladies compete directly against the men and Caties goal for this season is to continue to gain experience, develop her speed further in preparation for a competitive assault in the junior ERC category in 2018.
